G.P. Ispat Private Limited is a medium scale industrial unit manufacturing high strength deformed reinforcement bars (rebars) for concrete. The company has introduced manufacture of international quality of ‘Quenched and Self Tempered’ (QST, called “TMT” in India) bars as it has acquired technical Know-how from EVCON-TURBO a German based technology as per their unique Quenching Technique. The Company is lead by young, energetic Directors with over a decade of steel industry experienced and are well supported by our qualified staff and experienced labour. The basic aim of the Company is to make available international quality rebars in the Indian market to meet the ever growing demand. The production plant is equipped with modern production equipment, testing and quality assurance facilities and employs a dedicated team to ensure quality products to the discerning buyer.
Production Technology

G.P. Ispat Pvt. Ltd chose the licensed EVCON-TURBO a German based technology for manufacture of international quality rebars because this is the first choice all over the world. Directly after the last rolling mill stand, the steel bar surface receives a short intensive water cooling as it passes through the system. The rapid temperature reduction of the bar periphery converts the surface layer of steel bar to a hardened structure. On leaving the Pipe, the intensive quenching is followed by further cooling in atmosphere, so that the temperature between the hot core and the outer cooled surface is equalized – the surface layer gets tempered from the heat of the core. The resultant structure is a tempered Martensite zone at the periphery and a fine grain ferrite- pearlite structure in the central zone. Due to this unique and precise technology, Buland rebars have all the desired properties of high strength, good toughness and ductility.

This is essential as many rolling mills in India are marely spraying water on the bars in an unscientific way and selling them as TMT rebars. This strength is even less than CTD bars. Properties

Cost Effective : Use of Buland rebars results in savings of 10-20% compared to CTD bars for same work.

Fire Resistance : Unlike Torsteel and CTD rebars, TMT bars have high thermal stability. They are preferred choice when elevated temperature of 400-600 C may be encountered.

Earthquake Resistance : Buland TMT rebars with typical elongation of 16-25%, (well above the minimum 14.5% specified in IS 1786), are suitable for use even in earthquake zones 3,4 & 5.

Corrosion Resistant Properties : Controlled water cooling prevents the formation of coarse carbides which has been cited as the main cause for the corrosive nature of common bars. Another reason for better corrosion resistance properties is the abcense of surface torsional stresses caused by the cold twisting (Torsteel) process.

Weldability : Buland rebars with carbon content less than 0.25% can be used for butt and other weld joints without reduction in strength at the welding joint.

Bend Properties : Buland rebars have excellent bent properties due to the unique ductility (elongation values) obtained.

Strain Ageing :  Due to unique manufacturing process and chemical composition, Buland TMT rebars show no tendency of embrittlement either during welding or cold deformation or cold deformation of welding joints.

Formability : Due to very high elongation value and consistent properties throughout the length of the bar, Buland TMT rebars have excellent workability and bend ability.
